On Sunday, June 26, the "StarTribune" published Top Workplaces 2016, an annual special section listing the 150 best places to work in Minnesota.
For the third year in a row, the City of Eden Prairie was named a Top 150 Workplace, ranking 47 in the mid-sized company category in Minnesota — a ranking that places the City among the best of the best in the state. Eden Prairie is the only municipal government in Minnesota to receive this recognition.
The rankings in the StarTribune Top 150 Workplaces are based on confidential employee survey results collected by WorkplaceDynamics, an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention. Businesses are recognized based on employee opinions measuring engagement, organizational health and satisfaction. The analysis included responses from more than 74,180 employees at public, private and nonprofit organizations throughout Minnesota.
“It is quite an honor to be recognized as a Top 150 Workplace for a third consecutive year,” said City Manager Rick Getschow. “This designation reflects the contributions City employees make every day to a positive work culture that values high performance and excellent customer service.”
“This is outstanding recognition for the City that validates the exceptional work environment City leadership strives to create,” said Mayor Nancy Tyra-Lukens. “The distinction this ranking brings to the City of Eden Prairie cannot be overstated; I am honored to work alongside the dedicated employees who work hard every day to make this community such a great place.”
The City of Eden Prairie is a vibrant community of more than 60,000 residents located just southwest of Minneapolis. Eden Prairie has been nationally recognized as a great place to live, work and raise a family. Since 2006, Eden Prairie has been listed among "MONEY" magazine’s 100 “Best Places to Live” in America, and in 2010 topped MONEY’s list as the #1 Best Place to Live in America.
