Seeking Feedback on 2020-2021 City Budget

The City Council adopted a preliminary 2020-2021 Budget and Tax Levy at the Sept. 3 council meeting with final approval scheduled for Dec. 3. More information is available at edenprairie.org/Budget. The City is polling residents about the budget on its civic participation platform at edenprairie.org/Polco through October. Aspire Eden Prairie 2040 Comprehensive Plan

At its Oct. 1 meeting, the City Council granted final approval for Aspire Eden Prairie 2040, the City’s Comprehensive Plan Update. The Council’s approval, along with authorization from the Metropolitan Council, concludes the comprehensive plan update process. The updated plan will be available at edenprairie.org/AspireEP2040 within the next several weeks.

The City would like to thank the community members and organizations involved in the community engagement portion of the process. Whether you served in a focus group, conducted a DIY meeting, completed a survey or hosted a question/answer session with City staff, your involvement is greatly appreciated in creating this community plan.

Fall Harvest Celebration

The City will host its annual Fall Harvest Celebration Saturday, Oct. 5, from 2–5 p.m at the Riley-Jacques Barn (9096 Riley Lake Road). The event features a history hunt, art making, old-fashioned games, story stroll, horse-drawn wagon rides and other family friendly activities. The Eden Prairie Historical Society will also offer tours of the Dorenkemper House. Concessions will be available to purchase at the event.

Fall Into Fitness

On Saturday, Oct. 12 from 8 a.m.–noon, the annual Fall Into Fitness event will take place at the Community Center. Attendees can sample new group fitness classes, tour the Community Center and meet fitness instructors. The event will also feature prize drawings throughout the day. The event is free; childcare is available for a fee.
