Today Chief Sackett administered the oath of office to the department’s three newest officers: Kenny Stromgren, Brandon Wenande and Emma Wax.
Officer Stromgren grew up in the metro area. Prior to being hired as an officer in Eden Prairie, Officer Stromgren spent nine years as a special education teacher and served one year as a Community Service Officer for Eden Prairie. Officer Stromgren is married with two children.
Officer Wenande is from the west metro and obtained his A.S. degree in law enforcement from Normandale. After graduation, he worked for the Medina Police Department as a Community Service Officer. Most recently, he spent the past five years as a Deputy Sheriff for the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
Officer Wax is from southeastern Wisconsin and attended Minnesota State University, Mankato where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement with an emphasis in Alcohol & Drug Studies. She was also elected as the chapter representative of the National Criminal Justice Honors Society. Officer Wax worked as an Eden Prairie Community Service Officer for a year and a half prior to being hired as an officer.
The new officers will spend the next 3-4 months in the department’s Field Training program before patrolling by themselves.
Welcome Officers Stromgren, Wenande and Wax!
