Nominate Veterans to Honor at Memorial Day Ceremony
The Veterans Memorial in Purgatory Creek Park is the site of Eden Prairie's Memorial Day Ceremony. The annual event honors the brave men and women who have served our country in the U.S. Armed Forces. Community members are invited to nominate a veteran to be recognized during the 2025 ceremony. Visit edenprairie.org/Veteran to submit a nomination by Tuesday, May 6. Nominees should have Eden Prairie connections, and must be honorably discharged United States veterans, active-duty service members or deceased military personnel in good standing.
City Accepting Students on Commissions Applications
The City is accepting Students on Commissions applications for the 2025-2026 school year. The program is open to any incoming high school junior or senior who lives in Eden Prairie. Students can apply to serve on one of the following commissions:

Spring Recycling Opportunities
Eden Prairie's Spring Recycling Drop-Off Event is from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 3 at the City's Yard Waste Site (9811 Flying Cloud Drive). Drop off appliances, household electronics, furniture (including mattresses) and more to be recycled by Certified Recycling. The event is open to Eden Prairie residents only with a valid ID for proof of residency.
The Spring Recycling Curbside Pickup runs May 1–30 and provides an opportunity to recycle appliances, tires, power equipment and more, directly from your curb. Call Certified Recycling at 952-894-1448 to schedule pickup Monday through Friday.

Seeking Arts in the Park Vendors
Are you an artist, maker or creator? Arts in the Park is Saturday, Aug. 16 and we're currently accepting applications for artists and vendors, which are due June 2. This popular, daylong community fair features shopping, live music, lawn games, art activities and food trucks — all within the beautiful setting of Purgatory Creek Park. Planning Commission Public Hearing
There is one public hearing on the Monday, April 28 Planning Commission meeting agenda for the following proposal:
7887 Shamrock Trail — The applicant is requesting a variance for a 100-foot setback from the Ordinary High Water Level (OHWL) in the Shoreland Overlay Zoning District. City Code requires a 150-foot setback from the OWHL.
Salvage Crawl

Lead Paint Removal Grants
If your home was built before 1978, it may contain lead paint, which is dangerous to young children. Hennepin County is offering lead removal grants up to $15,000 for qualifying households. Find more information and see if you qualify at hennepin.us/LeadControl.
