Additional information about parking in the back lot:

• Enter through the back doors, on the south side of the lot.
• Walk through Rink 2 and follow the hallway to the front desk.
• Swimming lesson participants walk through Rink 2 and follow the hallway to the front desk, and use the pool entrance.
• Skating lesson participants needing rental skates walk through rink 2 and follow the hallway to the front desk.
• Open swim and skate participants follow the hallway to the front desk and open skate participants receive a stamp.
• Developmental skate/hockey participants are asked to check in at the front desk and receive a sticker/wristband before going on the ice.

We ask that our patrons:

• Use the back parking lot and entrance when the front lots are full.
• If back lot is also full, please park in the High School lots on the north side of Eagle Way or at Round Lake.
• Arrive early so you do not feel rushed to make your scheduled activity.
• Review the schedule of high traffic times and hockey games listed in the Monthly Member News.
• Check our fitness class schedules for alternative times to attend classes.
• Do not leave your car unattended in the front drop-off and pick-up circle.

Permits are available for sale, on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1 in person at the Community Center.

Permits will be inspected on each vehicle beginning the first day of class.

Use/Display of Parking Permits

Permit owners cannot lend, sell, tamper, alter or trade their permits. Students involved in this will forfeit their permit without a refund. Permits may be purchased anytime throughout the year. Parking permits must be displayed in your rearview mirror at all times. Students who forget to display their permit may face warning, written ticket with fines or a possible permit suspension.

Refunds

Refunds are available to students wanting to return their permit during the first full week of school. You must return your permit to the Community Center office by Friday, Sept. 12, 2026. A $5 cancellation fee will be charged. Beginning Sept. 15, 2026, prorated refunds will only be awarded to students who will no longer be attending EPHS or who switch to online/distance learning. Written notification from the school of transfer or documentation of family relocation will be required before refund will be awarded. In the event of an extended school closure, once school is back in session, refunds will be issued for the time of the closure.

Students who choose to drive to school will operate their vehicle in conformance with all rules and regulations of the State of Minnesota, the City of Eden Prairie, and School District 272 Board of Education Policy, governing the reserved parking lot.

Motor vehicles must be licensed and covered by insurance. The City is not responsible for the motor vehicle or its contents. Because bus transportation is available to each student in the district, it is important to remember driving to school is considered a privilege and, with so many students wanting to drive, rules will be strictly enforced.

Use of Vehicle During School Hours

The driver registered with the City of Eden Prairie is responsible for the behavior of others in their vehicle even if they are not present. Vehicles not registered with the City of Eden Prairie are subject to being wheel-locked or towed.

Speeding and/or Reckless Driving; Illegal Parking

Permit owners must observe and obey traffic laws and parking permit laws. Any vehicles parked illegally in fire lanes or in areas other than the designated student lot, such as in staff reserved areas, EPCC patron-only section or posted 2-hour parking, or without a valid parking permit visibly displayed, will be subject to violation consequences and/or towing of vehicle at owners expense.

Any student vehicle parked in the EPCC patron-only lot will be ticketed or towed at owner's expense.

Search of Vehicle

Vehicles may be subject to search if there are reasonable grounds to believe illegal drugs, alcohol, stolen property or other contraband might be present in the vehicle.

Violation Consequences

First Violation — Written Ticket/Fine

Second Violation — One week parking suspension plus ticket/fine (including fine if permit is not properly displayed)

Third Violation — Revocation of parking permit without refund, plus ticket/fine

Display of Permit — Persons that fail to display a permit at all times on City grounds continuously will face parking suspensions and/or revocation without refund and/or fine

Towing — Vehicles may be towed at owner’s expense if parked improperly, in addition to above penalties

Limited Parking Dates

During the week of Schooner Days, parking permit spots at Round Lake Park are unavailable and students will be able to park at the Community Center for those days only. Parking in the patron-only lot will not be available to students.

Lost or Stolen Parking Permits

The fee to replace a lost parking permit is $50. If it is stolen, a police report must be filed. PLACE VALUABLES IN YOUR TRUNK AND REMEMBER TO LOCK YOUR VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES!

Theft/Vandalism

The City of Eden Prairie and the Eden Prairie Community Center are not responsible for vandalism or damage to vehicles or loss of items from inside the vehicle.
